| RESEARCH |
The Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information (CELE) was founded at the Palermo University Law School with the objective of providing rigorous research to sectors of civil society, journalists, government institutions and the academic community that are dedicated to the promotion of those rights, primarily in Latin America.
CELE undertakes studies that it believes are necessary, but primarily conducts studies at the request of the aforementioned groups. To do this, CELE works with professors and researchers at other academic entities in Argentina and in other countries.
This section contains reports that have been completed in addition to reports that are currently in progress. |

| JURISPRUDENCE |
Freedom of expression is a fundamental component of democratic societies. Its protection and its limits are always being discussed and redefined, frequently through the judicial system.
This section presents jurisprudence relating to freedom of expression from the Inter-American Human Rights Court, a normative framework that is applicable to and guides the majority of the countries in the Americas. |

| LEGISLATION |
Freedom of expression is an indispensible right in democratic societies: all of the democratic nations in the world protect the freedom of expression of their citizens through constitutional regulations, whether they are broad or detailed. But public democratic debate demands more than this: massive means of communication have complex structures and use technologies that are regulated by the state, through telecommunications and broadcasting laws and innumerable other minor pieces of administrative legislation.
This section presents some of the constitutional clauses and regulatory laws from different countries with the aim of examining other legislative experiences and regulation from a comparative perspective. |

The majority of the reports that CELE produces are available on its website. Some of them are also published in hard copy. You can request any of our publications by emailing cele@palermo.edu.
Because many of CELE´s reports are undertaken at the request of third parties, certain reports should be requested directly from these entities.
