  CELE understands that freedom of expression is a fundamental component of democratic societies. Here we present the research that draws attention to its importance and the laws that regulate it, both in specific countries and in the Inter-American Human Rights Court.

  Access to information is a fundamental right and a tool in the fight against corruption. Here we give a brief review of the normative frameworks that guarantee this right, the jurisprudence that analyzes its importance in democratic societies and the research that CELE has done on these themes.

CELE in a workshop on intermediary liability at Stanford University
The director of CELE participated in the workshop “Fostering Greater Collaboration between Service Providers and Internet Freedom Groups in the Public Interest”, on December 15th. The activity was organized by the Center for Internet and Society (CIS) at Stanford University and the Open Society Justice Iniciative.

CELE collaborated on a report on Internet freedom
Freedom House released its report "Freedom on the Net", the fifth edition of a publication that evaluates the level of freedom on the Internet in different countries, as its name implies. To do so, an analysis is conducted of various indicators such as for example, economic barriers or infrastructure for Internet access, among others.
